Skeena Girl Friday

I built the original Bear Creek website years ago when I was an employee at Bear Creek.  The spring of 2008 I updated the website from an HTML design to a WordPress design – I was anticipating leaving the company and wanted to update the site to a software that my successor could easily use.  Spring of 2010, after some deliberation, the owner decided to give me the opportunity to update the site again. Newly unemployed thanks to the slowdown in the economy, it was a great opportunity to learn new skills.  I decided to change the site to Joomla, my first Joomla project. While I love WordPress, I felt Joomla would possibly be easier for future expansion – an employee log-in module. This project was also my first opportunity to build a flash header.

I used Artisteer to create the design graphic template. I was going to use CoffeeCup Firestarter to create the flash header, but instead opted to use a Joomla plug-in which allows the staff to change the images fairly easily by uploading/deleting photos from a media folder in the site.

This is a photo of how the WordPress version of the website used to look like. It was one of the first WordPress templates I built using Artisteer software.
